1. My Excel column with dates/datetimes does not appear as dates/datetimes in MySQL?

Data chow Excel2SQL is designed to process excel data according to the datatypes and size you set on the column panel. If your Excel column contains dates/ datetimes, you need to set your datatype to either "DATE" or "DATETIME". If you don't set as "DATE" or "DATETIME" your data will not be handled as such.


2. How do I insert data into an existing MySQL table?

From the "File" menu select "Insert data to existing MySQL table" Choose your excel file and select culumns.


3. I cannot add data to my existing MySQL table?

Ensure that your excel column names correspond to your MySQL column names Ensure that the data types of your Excel columns correspond to your MySQL column datatypes


4. How do I create MySQL table with a custom name?

From the File menu open your Excel file. Go to "Edit" menu and select "Save table as". Type the new table name, save and then continue with the export steps. Alternatively if the original Excel table already exists in your MySQL database follow the MySQL creation steps. When you execute the Migrate button a prompt will appear and offer to create a continue to add data to an existing MySQL table or create a new table. Select "New Table", type your new MySQL table name and save.

8. Why are my Excel Column Names changed in MySQL tables?

Data Chow follows MySQL syntax in naming columns. All MySQL regular expression (!@#$%^&*()-+=?<>,. ) cannot be stored as table names or column names. Data Chow converts any of these expressions into an underscore "_"


9. Why doesn't Data Chow my MySQL table to be created?

Ensure that all Excel columns that you have ticked have names
MySQL does not allow creation of columns with no names
Ensure that your your Excel column names have less that 64 characters.
MySQL does not allow column names that are 64 characters long or more.
Ensure that there are no Excel columns with duplicate names.


10. How do I select a specific Excel sheet?
Go to "File" menu, select "open" and open your spreadsheet. At the bottom of the open excel sheet window you will see buttons with names of sheets that exist in the spreadsheet. Select sheet of your choice.
